Chocolate Cookies Recipe



I finally got round to making these tasty cookies. I have always wanted to make some large cookies, like the Millie's Cookies. Yummmm!


I'm sure you've all heard of Tanya Burr, well I watch her vlogs, beauty videos and read her blog and I came across a post she had done, where she made some scrummy cookies. I've really been wanting to make these for ages and finally I have, and I'm so glad I have.

To make 10 rather large cookies, you will need:
  • 200g Butter
  • 300g Caster Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 275g Self Raising Flour
  • 75g Cocoa Powder
  • A splash of milk (dosen't matter what kind, I used Skimmed)
  • A large bar of milk, white and dark chocolate and 3 dime bars.
I did't use any dark chocolate, as we are not that keen on dark, so I left it out.

Method:
  1. Measure all you ingredients out.
  2. Set your oven to 200 degrees Celsius. 
  3. Mix together the butter and sugar, I used an electric whisk, as you get a smooth consistency. 
  4. Crack 1 large egg into your mixture and whisk again.
  5. Then just add all your dry ingredients and mix together, my mixture was a little tough and dry, that's where the splash of milk comes in. It makes it more moist.
  6.  Line 2 baking trays with baking paper or foil, and plop, yes plop 5 blobs onto each tray.
  7. Once your oven is set to 200 degrees, put your trays into the oven for 11 minutes.
Tanya mentioned that 11 minutes was the perfect time and it is, they came out looking not cooked at all and was still wobbly. But leave them to set for 30 minutes and they are perfect. .

The chocolate will melt in the middle and they are extremely soft and chewy, and have a nice crunch from the dime bar too.
